Acupuncture, Injection Therapy and Laser Therapy for Post-Stroke Recovery
I am a 73 year old female who has suffered from osteoarthritis for many years. I have taken several over-the-counter pain medications to relieve the pain, as well as prescription drugs. Through the years the pain continued to increase to the point I was taking an excessive dosage of pain medication. On March 23, 2011 I suffered a stroke and was in intensive care for 5 days and was unable to walk. Upon release from the hospital, I began physical therapy for a period of 8 weeks.
Prescribed pain medicine would not alleviate the pain I experienced, sometimes 24 hours a day. My doctors had determined I could not take medication that contained aspirin or Ibuprofen and the pain at times would become excruciating. I had tried acupuncture in the past and it offered some relief. However it didn’t seem to be that effective that time.
During a shopping trip I spotted a sign for Advanced Healthcare, LLC and walked in and talked to Dr. Mario Dube, DOM, AP. We scheduled an appointment and I experienced immediate relief after my first session and continued to get Acupuncture Therapy, Laser Therapy and Injection Therapy once a week. What a relief!
My husband and I travel quite often between Michigan and Florida, so sometimes I have to go several weeks without treatment and pain medication does not work effectively. The first thing I do on returning to Florida is go see Dr. Dube. I would highly recommend his treatment and methods for anyone suffering from the type of pain such as I experienced.
